After receiving it’s exclusive drop on Dazed & Confused Magazine, we can finally unleash the incredible new video for Metabeats ‘Passport’ to the wider world. Featuring Vanity Jay on vocals on top of Meta’s boogie it’s a throwback journey for the music lovers out there. After the single has been catching repeated play on Mistajam on 1Xtra, Ace & Vis and Radio 1, and receiving incredible feedback from club DJ’s worldwide, it was only fitting we followed up with some suitably funk fuelled visuals.

The song features North West London based rapper Pride (who also goes by the moniker Doorz). Produced by Savvy aka Asaviour & lifted from the Play To Win vol.3 mixtape Pride is a regular collaborator with the Saving Grace Music Label he features on Asaviour & DJ IQ’s (Professor Green) 2009 smash ‘The A Loop Theory’.

His laid back yet quick-fire flow is a fresh perspective on this generations selection of emcees, his witty yet conscious wordplay makes Prides performance entertaining from start to finish. Pride is also joined on the track by soulful leftfield songstress Stac (One taste/ Wah Wah 45) who delivers beautiful chorus that is both ambitious and totally understandable at that the same time. Her intoxicating harmonies combine to take the track to real heights.

Pride is now is currently putting the finishing touches onto his upcoming double E.P of solo material, he himself is keen to remain tight lipped about the surprises he has in the pipeline, but believe us whe say he has some tricks up his sleeve…

The EP bundle contains:
Pride – The Right Idea Feat Stac by Savvy aka Asaviour – ORIGINAL MIX

With remixes from;
Pride – The Right Idea Feat Stac – Noji REMIX
Pride – The Right Idea Feat Stac “Brand New Day” – Dj Q REMIX
Pride – The Right Idea Feat Stac – XLII REMIX

And now its time for something completely different! Here is the new single from Nicky Spesh, a rapper I remember reading about in HHC back in the day. Now he’s back under the moniker of Butterscotch Espinosa, a crazy name if I ever heard one, but a name that I definitely will remember. The track takes on life after his missus gave birth to triplets and now as a dad of four he looks at Hip-Hop through different eyes. It’s so well done and the beat is infectious too. A catchy well rounded song with a simple but effective video to match.
